Swimming classes start today in Roscommon pool for all classes from First to Sixth. We will be attending for seven weeks. This is a very important part of our PE programme and we will also be learning about water safety in our PAWS programme.

Rugby blitz in Creggs to promote The Women's World Cup ln Rugby 2017 which will be held in Ireland . Representatives from Connacht Women's Rugby were present. All pupils from 2 to 6 class took part.

We played hurling today. February 2017. Prionsias assisted and demonstrated the necessary skills. We will now be able to practice these and implement the skills we learned in our future games with our teachers.

We hosted the Special Olympics Regional Motor Activities Training Programme in our school in February 2017. People came from Mayo, Galway, Roscommon and Sligo to participate. We have been involved with the Special Olympics for 8 years since we set up our Sunshine Class. Children from our school took part. The rest of the school went to cheer and support them. Congrats to the boys who won the soccer tournament in Shiven. They beat Granlahan, Brideswell, Curraghboy and Lisaniskey. They scored 21 goals in total. They are through to the Connacht final in Castlebar.

In February we visited Galway Atlantaquaria. Our tour guide Ian taught us all about the different sea creatures. We even got the chance to feed and touch some of them! We walked around and saw all the creatures.
We got to hold a Starfish. Ian told us to hold it upside down so the starfish wouldn't stick to our hands!
We also got to hold a Spiny Spider Crab!
